Lynda King, a Hokie alum, has worked at the Newport News Center since 2017 as the administrative and program administrator. Prior to Newport News, she also worked for several years as a program support tech at Mechanical Engineering’s Vibration and Acoustics Lab in Durham Hall on the Blacksburg campus.

At the Newport News Center, Lynda is not only responsible for assisting customers in person and on the phone, but also assists the team with projects, professional development opportunities, open enrollments and graduate-level classes.  “Whatever is needed, just ask, and I have either learned how to do it or know who to ask for help to get it done.”

What is one small thing that makes your day better?

Chatting with my daughter, Haley, about her day.

What are you binge-watching?

I’m currently watching Seal Team – I like the military/action type shows.

What is the last book you couldn’t put down?

“Emperor’s Revenge” by Clive Cussler

What hobby would you dive into if time and money weren’t an issue?

Traveling overseas to warm beaches!

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?

Always give credit to those who did the work, gave an excellent idea, or helped you personally achieve a goal.
