December 13, 2022
Virginia Tech’s Executive Briefing Center (EBC) in Arlington, Virginia, has won an industry award recognizing excellence in distinctive venues hosting meetings and conferences.
The center has won the Planners Choice Award for Professional Meetings and Conferences by Unique Venues magazine, which bestows its annual awards to honor “unique, nontraditional, special, and memorable venues.” Winners were selected across 15 categories based on votes by the organization’s network of more than 20,000 event planners in the U.S. and Canada.
Winners were acknowledged recently at the Unique Venues Annual Marketing Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida, and are featured in a special edition of the digital Unique Venues Magazine.
Virginia Tech’s Executive Briefing Center carries out the university motto – Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) – with every meeting, training course, and conference hosted in the facility and provides exemplary support to clients and their guests.
Located on the second floor of the Virginia Tech Research Center – Arlington, the center is designed to accommodate executive seminars, training programs, workshops, receptions, and many other events in its nine professionally appointed gathering spaces that can host more than 200 participants.
Along with the latest in meeting technology, the conference center provides an intimate experience for attendees and personal attention for meeting organizers. However, Manager Larissa LaCour said having a beautiful venue is only half the equation for a successful meeting.
Dedicated staff support leading up to and during the meeting helps minimize surprises. Event assistants are on hand to personally greet guests, assist with connections to technology, and make any last-minute adjustments for a seamless presentation, allowing clients to focus on their content.
“Our team is focused on delivering outstanding customer service and working to ensure that our planners and their guests feel welcome in our facility. We know when planners choose to host their meeting at the EBC, it will certainly leave a lasting impression on their attendees but, more importantly, the planners themselves are made to feel part of our Virginia Tech community – a Hokie nation committed to serving those around us which keeps them coming back time and again,” she said.
The center, part of Outreach and International Affairs, has won several Unique Venues awards since it opened in 2011, including best high-tech venue and best venue for small gatherings.
