The Steger Center for International Scholarship in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, is seeking a graduate assistant for the 2026-27 academic year. This unique opportunity allows a Virginia Tech graduate student to live and work at the university’s European hub while supporting academic programs, student life, and community engagement.

The GA works closely with faculty, staff, and students in residence, helping organize weekly events in the Casa Maderni Living-Learning Community and building connections with the local Riva San Vitale and Ticino communities. The role also includes assisting with coordinated travel, offering academic support, and helping students navigate the challenges of life abroad and culture shock.

Applicants must be Virginia Tech graduates by June 2026, enrolled in a graduate program that permits a year at the Steger Center, and have previously completed a study abroad experience. Preferred qualifications include prior study at the Steger Center, knowledge of Italian, and experience as a Steger Center ambassador.

The position begins in August 2026 and includes a $2,500 monthly stipend, room and board, and tuition remission per university policy.
