Virginia Tech launched its International Faculty Development Program (IFDP) in 2005 with the goal of advancing the internationalization of the university community through the development of faculty expertise and leadership in the global arena. The program facilitates the development of international partnerships and collaborations that enrich faculty members’ scholarship activities in learning, discovery, and engagement.
The International Faculty Development Program will be traveling to Europe in May of 2012.
The program will begin with seminars on the Blacksburg campus once per month from March to May, 2010. During this time, participants will learn about current efforts in internationalization at Virginia Tech and across colleges, explore potential collaborative programs with institutions in Europe, and design their own learning objectives and independent project. The program will culminate in an eleven-day intensive international experience in Europe in mid-May, where participants will learn about and visit European institutions of higher education and undertake the independent project they have designed.
